Success Stories

Ciara Thompson was invited to present her poster of Heart Simulation at the Grace Hopper Conference, 2013. Ciara is applying for graduate school. She has worked as an engineer for two years.

Angela Pelle presented her work at the American Geophysical Union, 2013. Angela is working towards her Ph.D degree, 2016.

Jordan Taylor attended second REU program at the University of Tennessee doing biological research in 2014.

Nyalia Liu attended a summer bioinformatics program at Stanford University in 2014. Nyalia is attending graduate school, 2016.

Kevin Zhao and Tony Cheung continued their research work with their mentors at CUHK and published their work in a conference paper. Kevin Zhao finished his MS degree and is working as a data scientist, 2016. Tony is finishing his MS in CUHK and will attend a school in Texas for a Ph.D degree, 2016.

Ben Chan and Nina Qian and their mentors presented their work at the SIAM PP conference, 2014. Nina finished her MS degree and is working as a data scientist.

Ben Chan and their mentors published their work in a chapter of a book entitled High Performance Parallelism Pearls. Ben is working as a software engineer and is applying for graduate school.

Kevin Zhao admitted to the computational science graduate program at Georgia Tech. He is working as a data scientist in the US, 2016

Julian Pierre finished his MS degree and is serving the US armed services. , 2016

Erin Yancey is in medical school, 2016

Jordan Taylor graduated and works in APSU, 2016

Kenneth McKanders graduated and works in Morehouse College, 2016

James Herndon is working towards his PhD degree, 2016

Nicholas Wang works as an engineer and is applying for graduate school. , 2016

Out of the 10 REU local REU students as in Aug. 2016, 6 are attending graduate school, 2 are working and pending to admit to graduate program.

Out of 4 international students as in Aug. 2016, , 3 enrolled in MS degree, one is working and pending to admit to graduate program.
